"If another believer sins against you, go privately and
point out the fault. If the other person listens and confesses it,
you have won that person back. Matthew 18:15
"First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps
you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's
eye." Matthew 7:5
"Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things
grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ." Ephesians
4:15
If someone offends me, I will:
- Review my own faults first
- Do my best to assume the best
- Form my opinion slowly
Before I speak or act, I will ask:
- Have I given this enough time?
- Do I have all the facts?
- Is this person a villain or a victim?
If this offense directly involves me &
if it needs to be resolved, then I will:
- Go to the offending person ONLY (Matt. 18:15)
- Ask questions before making accusations
- Speak the truth in love about the issue and the way it has
affected me. (Eph 4:5)
