Music Team
If you play an instrument or have a passion for singing, there may
be an opportunity for you to serve on the Heartland Music Team.
Contact
Jim Reich, or stop by the
information center on Sundays for more information.
Drama Team
The drama ministry utilizes the dramatic arts to illustrate or
introduce the service topic or a key point for the day. Our
mission is to use our God-given gifts and talents to honor God by
creating an atmosphere in which spiritual seekers will be drawn
closer to God and Christ-followers can worship him freely.
Rehearsals
are held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings prior to the
services. On the third Wednesday of each month, the entire
team meets for a time of sharing, building relationships and actor
training. Additional time for individual preparation
(memorizing lines, etc.) is also necessary in order to prepare for
rehearsals and the Sunday morning services.
Positions
available on the drama team include:
·
Actors
(previous experience helpful but not required)
·
Wardrobe
Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator - to ensure that needed
costumes are available and to organize and maintain the costume
and prop cabinet
If
you are interested in joining the Drama Team, contact Sue
McGinnes.
Prayer Team
We know that God works in powerful ways through the prayers of
those who love Him and
obey Him. Heartland is a place where we are amazed watching God at
work. How does this
happen? It happens because Heartland's people love, obey and
listen for His voice as He leads. If you seek to know God better
every day and have a desire to be used, you are already a part of
what God is doing. We want to help your prayer life grow and
connect you with others for mutual encouragement. Join us as we
encourage and build up the body to reach out to the community
around us.
If
you have a prayer request, would like to receive Heartlander's
weekly prayer needs, or would like to learn how to grow in your
prayer life, contact us.
Kid's
Company Team
The Bible
tells us that those who share even a cup of cold water with a
child will certainly be rewarded (Matthew 10:42). How much more
reward must there be for those who share the thirst-quenching
message of Jesus’ love with His precious little ones! Kid’s
Company offers a wide variety of service opportunities for those
who have a heart for children ages newborn through fifth grade.
So… whether you enjoy working with toddlers or older children,
whether you are available often or just once in awhile, whether
you like to be upfront or behind the scenes - there is a place for
you on the Kid’s Company Team! Please contact Gabrielle
Smith for a Volunteer Application Packet today!
Technical
Team
You can get involved with the sound system, lighting system, or
video system while being a part of the Tech Team. The
Technical Team uses current audio, video, and lighting technology
to assist the Heartland ministries in creating a meaningful
experience for those seeking to learn about and follow Christ.
You don't have to be experienced in any of the areas; you just
need a desire to be a part of a family who has a desire to serve
our Lord....in a fun way! Here are just a few of the
opportunities in the Tech Team:
- Impact the
mood with lighting
- Fine
tune the sound of the music on the sound board
- Stage
coordination - coordinate the production elements from
backstage
- Create
videos; run the camera and/or edit the video on the Macintosh
computer
- Web
site design and maintenance, or graphics design for PowerPoint
and video projection
Contact
Gig Ploense or call the
church office at 309-452-7335 if you would like to check out
the opportunities in the Tech Team.
Welcome Team
The Welcome Team provides direction, information, and assistance
in a warm and friendly manner to those attending
Heartland
Community
Church
. This ministry
is a great place for newcomers to get their feet wet to serving
and to become familiar with others attending Heartland. There are
several ways to get involved based on what fits your personality:
- Door
Greeters
are stationed at the front and back doors. You need not be
outgoing, only helpful and friendly. This is our first chance
to make people feel valued.
- Auditorium
Greeters
hand out programs, collect offering, and handle special
requests. There again, friendly and helpful personalities in
this area continue to make our attendees feel valued.
- Floaters
are mobile greeters looking for those needing further
assistance or connection in conversation. Floaters should feel
fairly comfortable approaching people and starting
conversation.
If
you are interested in being involved in this ministry please
contact the church office.
"This service that
you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is
also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God."
