Life Groups

We realize that doing life alone can be tough. Challenges can build us up or tear us down. Sometimes we might wonder if we're walking through unique experiences--can anyone else possibly relate??? That's where Life Groups come in. Meeting together with others can help us get a good perspective on our own lives.

Life Groups are an integral part of what we do as a church. We believe that continuous life change occurs when we are growing in a relationship with Christ, and that this happens best when we are prioritizing intentional relationships with others who are seeking this same goal. Life Groups provide people with the opportunity to connect with others, grow in their relationship with Christ, and experience community. Our Life Group leaders create environments for people to develop and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Life Groups are the key way to get connected and be encouraged to grow spiritually here at Heartland. It is our goal to have every member of our church involved in a Life Group.

We believe spiritual growth flows out of two basic commitments:
* A commitment to God and the Bible.
* A commitment to significant Christian relationships.

These home based Life Groups require a commitment, and are comprised of 10-16 people. They can meet weekly or bi-weekly to share, to study God's Word, and to support one another spiritually. Groups study a sermon-based curriculum. The groups meet from late September through December, and February through May, taking a break during our J-Term months (January, June and July). During J-Term we offer different courses that will help you grow in your walk with God. These courses range from Bible study to Ministry skills, as well as other life skills.

 J-Term

 J-Term Vision

The purpose of J-Term is to offer courses that will further your spiritual growth and build relationships. We have designed three environments that we believe every individual needs to grow spiritually:  Weekend services, where we gather to worship and learn; Life Groups, where we explore God’s Word, make application to our lives, and build a community of relationships for support and encouragement; and J-Term, which is to assist in what we are already learning as well as equipping us to serve.  

J-Term Focus

J-Term workshops are not lectures, but interactive dialogues with the material.  There is a high participation level, where learning is active, not passive.  We believe the more you engage with the material, the more you will learn and be able to pass on to others.

J-Term Schedule

J-Term workshops will be on Wednesday nights during the “J” months (January, June, July)
7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church.

There will be childcare available for infants through Kindergarten, and activities for children in grades 1-5. ***Please indicate if you will need childcare when you register.
