Media/Arts Overview

Here at HCC one of our core values is to use Media & the Arts to create a meaningful experience for each person who attends our services on Sunday morning.

Our music plays an important role in the worship experience as well as providing message support for the theme of the day. You'll hear a wide range of styles - everything from the latest Christian choruses to Classic Rock, Alternative, Blues, Top 40, and maybe even a little Country or Hip-Hop thrown in - and all revolving around the theme of the day!

We often present Dramas that reflect real-life situations to help draw people into the theme of the day. We also make generous use of popular movie clips, "in-house" video productions, and other visual media to reinforce the message each week. Stage design & the use of Graphic Arts round out the picture.

Regardless of the methods we use, each element of the service is designed to enhance the worship experience and bring people one step closer to God - no matter where they may be on their spiritual journey. We use Media & the Arts to raise questions, confront doubts, and deal with the realities of life head-on. Sometimes we may even present the "anti-message" (using prevailing cultural references or worldview) to set the stage before we provide straight-talking, biblical solutions - no beating around the bush and no watered down platitudes!

You see, at Heartland we think it's a sin to be bored at church! However, we're not here just to entertain... although we do have a lot of fun at what we do! Our goal every week is to present the truth of God in unexpected ways - we believe that God uses the unexpected to reach into people's lives. That's why we're passionate about using Media and the Arts in our services to enhance your experience in your spiritual journey with or toward God.
